| Scripps College to host film screening of "Circle of Women" followed by discussion with the director Gayle Anne Kelley. Gayle Anne Kelley is a Cultural and Community Development Specialist, peace educator, diversity consultant and documentary filmmaker. Ms. Kelley is founder of A Circle of Women and is committed to developing women and minority leadership, studying the wisdom of indigenous people and building a more peaceful and socially just world. She holds a vision of peace and well-being for the earth and future generations.Film synopsis: According to Indigenous prophecy, this is ‘The Time of the Woman’. A Circle of Women documentary explores the roles and responsibilities of women as leaders and peacemakers in the 21st century. The film presents contrasting views of western ideology with indigenous thinking in matters of governance, ecology, spirituality, war and peace. |
